Obvious inclusions like Cammy, Ken Masters, and Vega are definitely coming since they are series staples at this point. Yet, if you plugged in a copy of SFIV for right in front of me I would be back there in a heartbeat ready to only play SFIV for hours.Street Fighter 6 has shown an equal amount of newcomers and brand new combatants in the roster, leaving a lot of room for more characters to join in. Like there was Vanilla Sagat, Guile in Super, The twins, Red focus and Elena right till the tail end. I won't even say that SFIV is the most well balanced/or has the best mechanics compared to other entries.
I won't lie that a lot of the other games on this list below SFIV are just mechanical preference, I like how they play versus my personal preference. The only other game i feel as strongly about is Team Fortress 2, but that never really got replaced(and has a very active community). I think that there is something amazing about SFIV that when SFV came out it felt weird because it had been such a large part of my life for nearly eight years. The competitive scene was amazing, it was the last time i always wanted watch people play fighting games everyday. Every character is it own little universe of Combos, Techniques, mix-ups, footsies and match ups add infinitum. Its the type of game that you could play thousands of hours and still not have complete mastery of it. SfIV is the game that got me to like and understand fighting games on a much higher level because the game had every mechanic that had been in SF prior.
